ASSOCIATION OF HAMPSHIRE AND ISLE OF WIGHT AUTHORITIES
30 January 1998
PRINCIPAL HAMPSHIRE AND ISLE OF WIGHT OFFICER GROUPS 1997
Paper by the Policy Officer
RECOMMENDATION
That the report be noted.
1. The principal officer group serving the Association is the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Chief Executives’ Group (Association Support). In addition the Association’s action plan assigns work to a number of joint officer groups, such as the Chief Financial Officers’ Group. The work of these officer groups adds to the substantial joint working which exists between authorities.
2. One element of the action plan is to marshall our resources by mapping out all the potential support groups. The table below lists some of these groups, illustrating both the diversity of support and the potential for "reporting-back". The Association’s action plan is being reported to all these groups.

Environmental Co-ordinators’ Group |
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Benefit Practitioners’ Group |
|
Landscape Group |

4.Some of these groups cover a slightly wider area eg the Chief Leisure Officers’ Group incorporates East Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch and the Estates Officers’ Association extends to Chichester.
5. Some of the groups have a parallel member organisation eg the Chief Leisure Officers Group regularly meets the Chairs of Leisure Committees. Some have Sub-Groups: for example the Chief Executives have a "Nolan" Sub-Group at present.
6. Future papers to the Association will list joint member groups and other organisations and groups of relevance to the action plan.
