MEMBERS' SEMINAR ON 21 JULY AND REVISED VENUES

FOR HIOW MEETINGS

RECOMMENDATION

That Members note the date of the Members' Seminar, Friday 21 July, at Cricklade College, Andover and the change of venue for regular meetings to the Isle of Wight on 28 July and Basingstoke and Deane on 24 November.

MEMBERS' SEMINAR

1. The Association decided to set up a joint Members' workshop to consider some of the implementation aspects of the new Local Government legislation. The main themes for the workshop will be practical approaches to:

the scrutiny function
best value
with the emphasis on sharing experience.

2. The date for the workshop has now been set for the morning of Friday 21 July (9.30 am) at Cricklade College, Andover. Member authorities will be invited to send up to three representatives.

VENUES FOR HIOW MEETINGS

3. Venues for meetings have been switched slightly to bring the Isle of Wight venue forward to 28 July. Dates are shown in the Annex (these dates were approved last November).
