SOUTH EAST ENGLAND REGIONAL CULTURAL CONSORTIUM

RECOMMENDATION
That the names of Councillor Commander Malcolm Harper OBE and Councillor Virginia Wilson-Smith go forward to be considered as nominees to join the Board of the Regional Cultural Consortium. ________________________________________________________________________
1. The South East England Regional Cultural Consortium (SEERCC) has invited this Association to nominate candidates to join its Board. The Chairman, Sir David Watson, will decide who joins on the basis of:
* evidence of a strong personal commitment to/experience of cultural life in the region
* enthusiasm to serve on the Consortium and make a difference
* geographical/type of authority spread - we may be permitted one or two from this area
* gender etc. balance.
2. Details of the SEERCC have been reported to the Association at previous meetings. There are currently four vacancies for the region. Fareham and Havant Borough Councils have put forward the following nominations:

Councillor Virginia Wilson-Smith |
Conservative Borough Councillor and Chairman of Leisure and Culture Working Party. Member of Social Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Board in Havant. With extensive professional experience in the Theatre, Virginia Wilson-Smith also chaired the Hornpipe Arts Centre Trust in Portsmouth for most of its existence |
